Meet Christy

Christy and her husband, Chris, have a blended family of five children and a rescue dog and cat. Together, they co-founded a law firm that helps small businesses, startups, and entrepreneurs with their legal needs. Through their work, they have helped many business owners and entrepreneurs get off the ground. Working with small businesses gave Christy insight into what support small businesses and workers need to thrive and grow in our community.

Christy is currently working at a local elementary school. She worked three years as a Guest Teacher and now works as a Technology Associate and teaches the Technology Special. Her experience working at the school has shown her many of the specific needs in our community including everything from housing and food insecurity to the impact of traffic congestion on our families.

Christy comes from a family dedicated to volunteerism, community, and helping our neighbors. These values have shaped her life. For five years, she volunteered with Moms Demand Action, working to prevent gun violence in our state. She also served on her children’s PTA, her neighborhood’s HOA board, and the Mecklenburg Democratic Party Board.

Christy decided to run for office in 2018 to advocate for investing in public schools, creating jobs, expanding access to quality affordable health care, protecting natural resources, and public safety.

She remains committed to those issues and focuses on the local issues affecting Huntersville, such as smart development, infrastructure, traffic, and environmental stewardship.

Christy served in the North Carolina General Assembly from 2019-2020 in the House of Representatives. She is also a North Carolina Institutes of Health Policy Fellow, has completed Huntersville 101 and the Catawba-Wateree Water Management Group Citizens’ Academy. She has served as the Mayor of Huntersville since December 2023.
